Many people say that we can't live without love. Personally, I think that love is overrated, but who am I to judge?
It's not that I don't believe in love, or that I've never seen it, actually I see it every day I come downstairs and see my mom and dad. Their love is the right love, true love and you can see that in every little thing they do: how they talk to each other, how they look at each other, even how they smile at each other. If I ever find love, I want it to be exactly like theirs. So here we are, at the beginning of the story about me, Zoey Hayden, age 17, looking for love (if it exists for me). I sincerely hope that this won't be some lame and pathetic story, like most of the stories I started writing a couple of times. Fingers crossed!

Chapter one: the new beginning.

My family and I moved from LA, California, to New York in the middle of the winter breaks, so tomorrow I'm starting the second semester in my new school.  Awesome.

This is it. The first day of school. I already made numerous scenarios what could go wrong today, but I hope nothing will. So, my look for today: I French braided my long, chestnut brown hair to one side, put on my brown sweater and jeans, my favorite black converse all stars and gold bracelet as a good luck charm. Let the show begin.
I came to school early so I can get my schedule on time and find my classroom. A nice lady from registry  gave it to me and as I was looking at it and walking, I accidentally bumped into some student.

Me: oh, I'm so sorry, I'm bad at multitasking, as you can see.

Student: haha, no it was my fault. I'm Lucas, by the way.

Me: I'm  Zoey, nice to meet you.

Lucas: pleasure is all mine. So, you're new here?

Me: yup, all the way from LA. Hey, you mind showing me the classroom I'm supposed to go in?

Lucas: not at all. Let me see your schedule.  Hmm, actually, you're in my class.

Me: how convenient.

Lucas: do I sense sarcasm in your voice? I think we're going to get along just fine. So, LA, where do you live?

Me: isn't that too personal to ask someone you've just met?

Lucas: nope.(grins) So?

Me: I live in New York haha.

Lucas: really? I thought you live in Narnia.

Me: haha, I live at the end of the Maple street.

Lucas: me too, but at the middle.

Me: no shit?

Lucas: shit. So I guess we're going together to school and home, then?

Me: I guess. We should probably go, class started.

Lucas: ladies first.

Me: such a gentleman.

Lucas: I know, right?

Lucas and I went into our classroom where my new English teacher introduced me to whole class. I just stood there like an idiot while the teacher was asking me where am I from, blah, blah, blah…
Anyway, that whole time Lucas was laughing silently at me. Such an ass. First period was boring, the second more boring. I couldn't wait to come home. Finally, the first school day ended. It was quite okay, I've met some nice people, and some gross, but I'll talk about them later. As you know, Lucas lives in the same street as I, so we're walking home together.

Lucas: so, LA, how was your first day with us? Awesome, right?

Me: it's Zoey, and it was okay, nothing special.

Lucas: how? We are… oh crap, here comes annoying Allison, she thinks we're still together!

Me: want me to take care of it?

Lucas: I think you can't, but be my guest.

Me: watch me!

Lucas: here she comes.

Allison: hey, why haven't you called me? I left 50 messages on your phone!

Lucas: umm… I…

Me: excuse me, but who are you?

Allison: I'm his girlfriend, who are YOU?

Me: what?! Didn't he tell you?? OMG, we are together for 2 years, (started crying) I can't believe it! How could you??!! (slapped Lucas) I thought we were something special…

Allison: I…I better go now…sorry… (leaves in a hurry)

Me: (wiped off tears) you're welcome,  Casanova.

Lucas:  wow…that was…thanks!  But did you have to slap me that hard?!

Me: that was for laughing at me. And, you owe me big time, I smudged my mascara for you.

Lucas: I know, thank you. But, why did you…

Me: I don't know.

Lucas: don't you find me arrogant?

Me: I do. But that doesn't mean that I don't like you.

Lucas: so you like me?

Me: shut up, you know I didn't mean it that way.

Lucas: well, here's my house, you're on your own from now.

Me: I hope that I don't get lost this 200 yards.

Lucas: here, (writes number) in case you get lost, let me know.

Me: okay, see ya.

Lucas: later, gater.

When I got home, I told everyone about my first school day, had dinner and went upstairs to finish unpacking my stuff. I share my room with my 19 year old sister Amy, who's starting a semester on NYU. She's my best friend and I tell her everything. It's awesome having an older sister. I usually tell her everything, but this will wait a little bit until I see what's happening. Anyway, I texted Lucas:  "hey apple :D  got home safe, barely; tomorrow at 2pm at the end of  the street?"   Lucas answered: " hahahah  I'll be there"  I finished unpacking and then went to the bed. Tomorrow is a brand new day. can't wait for tomorrow!

8:00am  *alarm rings*
Must…get…up...  I barely woke up! After I awakened, I  took a shower, washed my hair and done my homework.  I was bored then, so I went downstairs to the kitchen and ate cereals until my mom woke up. Then we sat at the bar stools, drank coffee an talked. I love talking with my mom because she's so liberal and you can talk to her about anything. Afterwards, I dressed up for school and went out to meet with Lucas.
He was very handsome today. He wore gray hoodie and washed out jeans, which suited his hazel colored eyes and brown hair very very good, I must say.
